Help Us Get Back on Our Feet After the Altadena Wildfires
Hello, friends and compassionate strangers,
I am reaching out in a time of profound loss and uncertainty. My partner and I, both healthcare workers and artists, are devastated after losing our home in the Altadena wildfires. What makes this even more challenging is that we are new parents to a beautiful 3-month-old baby who has already witnessed so many struggles in her short life.
My pregnancy was extremely complicated, and I nearly lost my life three times during delivery. As a result I haven't been able to work in almost a year. I’m now focused on healing and caring for my child, but the wildfires have taken away what little we had left. Our home, our belongings, and most heartbreakingly, our art supplies and creations that we poured our hearts into—everything is gone.
Both my partner and I are occupational therapy assistants, specializing in helping children. But we are also passionate artists, and creating has always been our outlet, our refuge, and our way of contributing to the world. Losing our art and supplies has left a huge void in our lives, both emotionally and financially.
We are humbly asking for your support during this incredibly challenging time. The funds raised will hopefully help us find the stability and security needed to get back to doing what we love—both healing others through our work in healthcare and healing ourselves through our art.
Your generosity would mean the world to us. No donation is too small.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for considering a donation. We are so grateful for any help you can provide.
With Warmest Regards,
Kiersten, Oscar and Baby
