Support Kilo's Recovery and Justice Journey

Thanks for coming by to learn about Kilo, and how you can help support Kilo's recovery and getting justice for this sweet boy. Kilo was maliciously attacked by the man he knew as his dad for over six years. Kilo was stabbed in the head with something sharp enough to pierce his skull between 6-8 times, crushing his skull and sinuses. His left eye suffered incredible damage, and he is now blind in that eye. He was brutally hit in the face, breaking his nose in multiple places, and breaking 5 of his teeth. Besides the injuries that we can physically see, Kilo has suffered personality changes due to the trauma and he is physically no longer agile, like he was before this brutal attack.

Assailant in Case # C422023M653 & C422024M232 was charged with a misdemeanor for animal cruelty in Montezuma County, Colorado. He was cited and did not serve one minute in jail. His trial is set to start on Sept 11th, 2024.

Kilo has traveled to 38 states, from Canada to Key West. He is loved by everyone that has come into contact with him. He is a brilliant animal. Full of sweetness. Full of intelligence and intuition. He does trust falls, loves to be held like a baby. Through all of this pain he has endured, he has a smile on his face and is the calmest, kindest and most affectionate wolf. No anger, no angst, not even a drop of aggression after nearly having his life taken by someone that was supposed to love and protect him.

We are asking for donations to help us, as Kilo is needing two surgeries, very soon! One procedure will be to remove his 5 broken teeth, and the second to evaluate his left eye for pressure and damage. He lost sight in that eye, but we are hoping he won't have to have his entire left eye removed. The Ophthalmologist Veterinarian is in Albuquerque, New Mexico, so travel is a must!

We are also asking for donations to help with ongoing vet bills. Kilo struggles getting up, moving and is suffering with daily continuous pain. He has to be given a daily dose of steroid eye drops in his left eye. We understand that not everyone is able to donate, so another option to support Kilo would be to contact the DA's office in Montezuma County, voicing your support for tougher Animal Cruelty prosecution. This case should have been a felony Animal Cruelty case. With that said, we will take our day in court and stand with Kilo!

Kilo is being treated at Riverview Animal Hospital in Durango, Colorado. Our Vet is expected to testify as an expert witness at trial. We thank our amazing Vet and her staff for the delicate care they give Kilo.
