Support Kim and Dave Eroh's Medical Journey

First, let me introduce myself as "the other" Kim Eroh. I am Dave's sister-in-law and wanted to address any confusion right away! I've set up this GoFundMe for Kim and Dave Eroh, as they continue to face challenges and setbacks from Kim's fight against breast cancer.

In late 2022, Kim was diagnosed with breast cancer. After several surgeries, chemo and radiation, they thought the worst was behind them. But 7 days after her last surgery, the flap (the tissue from her own abdomen used to reconstruct her left breast) suffered a loss of blood. Blood clots formed in the blood vessels. She needed emergency surgery, where the surgeon attempted a repair, but it was unsuccessful. The vessels were too clogged and he had to remove the flap.

Now she has a temporary closure of the wound called a vacuum closure. They can’t just put some skin there. That area is too traumatized from all that has happened and it needs some healing to happen before they can do anything. The closure is connected to a small vacuum pump that improves the healing. She will need that connected to her for “weeks”.

Kim was obviously devastated. She was finally having something go right. She could see the light at the end of the tunnel. Her hopes were high. Now this. Months more of uncertainty, pain, and tough decisions. Dave is staying strong and supportive, but they are both emotionally drained from the roller coaster of the last 2 years.

Many friends and family members have asked how they can help. Kim retired early from teaching due to her medical treatments and the loss of her income has been an added challenge. Plus, they are both exhausted, and cooking meals is the last thing on their mind.

This GoFundMe is being set up to help ease the financial impact of their medical journey, and to alleviate some of the day to day stresses they face, so that they can focus on Kim's recovery.
