Support Kim Codman's Final Journey
Donation protected
In October 2023, my whole family's life was turned upside down when my grandmother, Kim Codman, was diagnosed with lymphoma. Days after being diagnosed, she started having numbness in her legs that slowly started traveling up her body. They ended up performing a scan and found a large tumor on her neck, compressing her nerves. She was then life-flighted to Salt Lake City and underwent an emergency 12-hour surgery. Over the course of the next year, we watched her perseverance while she learned how to walk again and gain back her independence. She underwent several different therapies, including radiation, chemotherapy, and different clinical trials. My grandfather traveled back and forth from Jackson to SLC every weekend to support her through this difficult time. Between expenses of hotels, food, and medical bills, their savings have been depleted. Unfortunately, my grandmother continued to get pneumonia, and despite her fighting like hell, she continued to deteriorate rapidly. Treatments were more of a risk than a benefit, so at the beginning of December, she made the very difficult decision to move to hospice care in the comfort of her own home, surrounded by her loved ones. I luckily flew into Jackson, WY, at 9 pm the day before Christmas Eve. She passed away at 1:20 pm on Christmas Eve, surrounded by her husband, son, daughter, myself, and her great-granddaughter. She passed way sooner than we all expected, but it was evident that it was her time to be with God; out of pain and suffering.
I am starting this GoFundMe to support my grandfather in cremation, funeral, burial, and medical expenses in this very difficult time. Any help is very much appreciated. My grandma was my best friend, and honestly, I know she would be yelling at me for making this page LOL.
Thank you to whoever reads this and to whoever can help us through this time.
