Support Kimberly's Recovery from Brain Aneurysm

Hi guys, my name is Kelly. I started this GoFundMe page for my best friend/sister Kimberly who has experienced a horrible medical emergency. On August 27, 2024 she was experiencing a severe headache, confusion, and lost consciousness. Thank goodness her mother & father thought quick and rushed her to the emergency room- where she was found to have a leaking aneurysm and a subarachnoid hemorrhage in her brain. She did undergo a neurosurgical procedure where her aneurysm was clipped, and a drain was placed to get rid of the extra fluid and blood in the brain. Unfortunately, she is having a difficult recovery and remains intubated & sedated in the Neuro ICU.

Prior to this event, Kim was a very high functioning, circulating registered nurse in the operating room at Advent hospital in Florida. She balanced work & home to provide her daughter Makenna a wonderful life. Due to her current medical situation, it will take her many months to recover, where she can hopefully return to work as a nurse.

In the meantime, she has many hospital bills, as well as her regular personal bills, including mortgage, utilities, vehicle payment, insurance, as well as monetary expenses to help raise her 11-year-old daughter, who unfortunately witnessed her mother’s medical emergency emergency.

10/1/2024-some updates: she was able to be taken off the vent, but did require a tracheostomy. She also required a gastrotomy tube for nutritional intake. She has been able to start working with physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy. She’s currently in rehab rehabilitation, but continues to have a very long road to recovery.

We appreciate all the generous donations from family and friends that we have received thus far. With that said, she continues to have a very long road to recovery. It will take her many months, possibly approximately one year to make a full recovery. During this time she is unable to work. As we all know, disability does not pay as well as full-time regular work. All donations are greatly appreciated

My goal of the GoFundMe page is to help provide Kim and her family, some monetary support to decrease the monetary burden of her current situation. She is not one to ask for a handout or help of any nature, nor are her parents, this is why I am opening the GoFundMe page to help her.
