Support KimBoo's Creative Journey (and Keely!)

Hello, friends, family, and fans!

If you don’t know me, I’m KimBoo, the heart & soul behind House of York . I'm reaching out to you not just for help, but to invite you to be a part of a transformative journey! As many of you know, the path of an independent creator is filled with both incredible highs and challenging lows, and I’ve had a lot of both over the past couple of years.

In early 2023, after a few false starts with other business ideas, I decided to re-launch my career as an author and commit at long last to my One True Love: storytelling!

I embarked on putting all the pieces in place: a new blog, a new home for my current fiction, a whole new website along with an online direct-sales shop, revising and re-releasing my back catalog, reviving my podcast/YouTube channel , reinvigorating my social media presence , completely renovating my blog about grief and mourning from top to bottom, and writing non-fiction writing craft books for my fellow authors.

The result? I’ve released two craft books, a serialized novel, two new ongoing serials; started a membership community for writers focused on productivity; posted nearly 200 blog posts; and appeared as a guest on multiple podcasts . I’ve revamped my marketing and created some Fiverr gigs for coaching other authors (I’ve gotten excellent reviews!)

But. (There is always a “but,” isn’t there?)

To continue bringing my work and my stories to the public, I need your help to raise $10,000.

My goal with this campaign is to cover about four months of outflow, give or take, along with a few capital costs (such as those pricey ISBNs!). This isn't just about keeping the lights on; it's about investing in the dream. Four+ months is the runway I need to elevate my work from a steady climb to soaring heights, reaching a point where I can sustain my passion without additional assistance.

This goal is about laying the foundation for a future where my business can thrive, and where I am financially stable enough to create more of the content my readers love.

Just six months ago, my monthly earnings from my creative work hovered around less than $50—a humble beginning but pretty surprising when you realize I had not been marketing or promoting myself at all. Fast forward to today, and I'm thrilled to say that persistence, and the incredible support of friends, fans, and followers like you, have increased that figure to several hundred dollars a month! That’s an astounding 400% increase! It’s proof positive that I’m on the right track…I just need to stay on the right track!

Your support will contribute to essential expenses such as upgrading software like Affinity Suite for better graphic design capabilities, purchasing ISBNs so I can create paperback copies of all my books, and securing professional services for cover designs. These steps are crucial for enhancing the quality and reach of my work!

In gratitude for your support, every donor will receive a heartfelt, hand-written thank you card as a small token of my immense appreciation. Additionally, I'll be saving your name in order to offer future discounts—consider it a small way of saying a big thank you.

This campaign is more than just a fundraiser; it's an invitation to join me on a journey of growth, creativity, and community. By supporting this campaign, you're not just helping cover bills; you're fueling the dreams of a creator (me!) dedicated to bringing amazing and thought-provoking stories into the world.

You will be directly supporting keeping me housed, but ALSO helping to bring print versions of all my books into the world and planning for future projects such as my dream of doing a kickstarter for my Deck of Life card deck, designed to help people with executive function issues.

Let's embark on this adventure together. Share this campaign, contribute if you can, and most importantly, keep believing in the power of storytelling. Your support means the world to me!

With deepest gratitude,

KimBoo & Keely of the House of York
