Support Kim's Chemo Journey

Hi Everyone,

I met Kim and her two pups on a logging trail in the middle of the woods about four years ago. There is something ironic about meeting a philosopher in the woods, with no one around to hear... Anyway, since that fateful day, Kim has impressed me with her courage, independence and strength, surviving Maine winters with only a wood burning stove, fashioning her own water system, ice fishing, tapping maple trees and mushroom foraging.

Last month, Kim was diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer, a huge sucker punch to her newly established life. The cancer had already spread to her lungs and liver. Kim's first thoughts were about her fur babies and being able to care and provide for them on a daily basis, while going through chemo. Unfortunately, college philosophy teachers do not earn what they are worth, so there is not sufficient savings, and being unable to work is a tremendous hardship. This is the reason for this fundraiser. We need to make certain Kim does not have to worry financially, as she fights this very important battle.

Kim is now "port ready" and about to jump into her first round of chemo. Let us show our support so that Kim can focus on her treatment.
