In what feels like an unthinkable turn of events, my dear friend Kira has faced yet another heartbreaking loss just three months after the tragic passing of her grandmother and uncle. On December 31st, as many of us prepared to usher in the new year with hope and joy, Kira and her family received devastating news: her mother, Malisa Kegg, and her brother, Michael Kegg III, were found murdered in their family home. This unimaginable crime also claimed the lives of Malisa’s loyal service dog, Noah, and their cherished family dog, Tyberius or Ty for short.

At this immensely difficult time, Kira and her family are grappling not only with their grief but also with mounting financial burdens. I’ve reached out to her and received permission to set up this GoFundMe to help lighten their load. We hope to raise funds to cover the costs of Malisa’s cremation and a small memorial service, as well as the cremation of their beloved pets. Additionally, any contributions will aid in securing a lawyer to help Kira navigate the complicated legalities of accessing her mother’s home and belongings.
