Hello, dear friends!
My name is Mercy, and I’m reaching out to you today on behalf of my dear friends, Jade and Tyler Boyd, who are facing an unimaginable challenge with their precious 3-year-old son, Knox.
Anyone who knows the Boyd family understands the depth of their kindness and selflessness. They would go above and beyond to help anyone in need, often putting others before themselves. Now, it’s our turn to rally around them while they're searching for answers.
Here is Jade ( & Knox's ) story:
"a long back story— but while i was pregnant with knox i had placenta previa & my placenta was detaching causing bleeding internally & externally. but by Gods grace we made it to 37w where we gave birth to a healthy baby boy 7 pounds 15 ounces.
shortly before his first birthday in dec 2022 we assumed he was sick because he had a low grade fever which quickly spiked to 105° and caused a febrile seizure. we rushed to the ER because we’ve never seen anything like that before. never a fever over 102 max. they said it’s normal. fevers aren’t bad let them run their course as long as you can get it to come down with intervention— cool rags, tylenol/motrin.
that summer he spiked another fever and it reached 106° quick but came down shortly after intervention.
dec 2023 he spiked another. he seized and we thought the worst was over… until he didn’t wake up the next morning.. thinking he was sick and not feeling good i let him sleep until noon. he didn’t budge. his eyes fluttering open and shut, i load the kids up to rush him to the ER and on our way he went completely limp. unresponsive. i dialed 911 and pulled over to rip him out of his car seat. nothing. we get to the ER and they can’t get his vitals. they’re low… they do an IV and he doesn’t budge. his sugar has bottomed out so they dose him twice with glucose. we’re getting transported to Nationwide ICU and then he wakes up just as we’re about to take off at 6p that night. we’re no longer high risk so we take the ambulance to nationwide where they do an echo and run blood work. everything’s fine go home.
he’s had another episode over summer. we handled it as well as we could but we still went to the ER for fluids & sugar monitoring with a little ptsd from last time.
our family dr at a loss. the ER just doing what they can.
we made an eye dr appt because now he has rapid blinking but his sight is normal. no dry eyes. nothing out of the norm.
he screams in pain. his whole body hurts.. all the time. his tummy hurts. his knees hurt. his elbows hurt. his legs hurt. his head hurts. he groans in his sleep.
he turned 3 dec 28. and he’s now had a total of 7 fevers & 5 seizures. lasting longer each time. getting worse. he’s had an episode the last 2 weeks with seizures and now we’re currently at 104° and desperately waiting on our results from infectious disease. awaiting our neurology appt and now genetic testing.
pray. manifest. send good vibes. whatever you believe in. to keep our knoxy alive & healthy until we can figure this out & help him. i’ve made a list of everything that everyone has recommended we test for. things to do. and doctors to see. i appreciate it more than you guys will ever know. my biggest fear is him not waking up or not waking up the same & i am terrified of losing him before we can get it figured out. life pushes on but inside my world is crashing down. i feel so helpless watching him losing his energy & spark. losing his personality.. sleeping the days away.. spending days at a time in the hospitals… "
Let’s come together as a community to show our love and support for this incredible family. Your contributions will not only help ease their financial burden but also remind them that they are not alone in this fight. Thank you for your generosity and kindness. Together, we can help bring hope and healing to Knox and his family!
