Support Korey's Road to Recovery

Donation protected
As many know my cousins son was in a very serious car accident while working out of town and is in Louisville in the trauma unit. He has already began having surgeries and has many more to go. His medical expenses are already adding up and they are going to continue adding up. His family lives in Poseyville and has to drive back and forth from their house to Louisville as they have little ones that they still have to care for. Anything will help them with medical and transportation costs. Even if you can’t donate please share this. Let’s help this family out in a time of need.

Here are some updates from his dad and mom:

1st update:
Okay so Korey is sedated at this point and here's what we know. He is stable but critical and on the ICU trauma unit. He has a small brain bleed, he has broken most of the bones in his face, he has broken his jaw in about 3 places and his teeth are all broken on the one side, he has broken his back in 2 places, the main artery in his neck is dissected, his right leg is broken and it broke through the skin. He has many surgeries ahead of him and we have many trips here ahead of us. We ask for many prayers, thoughts, love and peace of heart for now and the future of our family.

2nd update:
So Korey is in surgery they are fixing his right open fractured leg and his breaks in his jaw. He will require surgery next week to get the rods and pins in the leg. He also needs another surgery on his left ankle as the MRI last night showed it is broken as well. We will know more later as the day goes on last night they mentioned trying to get him off the vent so we are praying for that today along with surgery to be successful.

3rd update:
Okay guys Korey is out of surgery he was in for about 7 hours give or take. 5 for his jaw he has plates and screws and they wired his jaw shut. His leg was about 2 hours and he has a cage type thing with the screws going into his leg. The other ankle is now in a cast and he will need more surgeries but this is where we are now.He was stable when we left they are leaving him alone for the night to sleep. In the morning they are going to slowly take him off sedation and try and get him off the vent. We don't believe there will be any problem getting him off the vent because last night when they did their checks and turned sedation down he was fighting the vent and breathing over it and that's a good sign. The prayers are working keep them coming for our sweet boy (I know he's a man but he's always gonna be that little boy with those tiny glasses and adorable contagious laugh). Believe it or not he looked so much better after surgery it gave us even more hope. We are headed home Mario got about 3 hours sleep and I have been up for 34 hours at this point and I have an infusion tomorrow so we needed to get home. Of course we will be blowing up the hospital phone for updates and I will share them as I have them!

Saturday 6/22 update from his parents:

So today they have decided to keep Korey on the ventilator he is not breathing as well today. They said this could be do to him being really tired or medications. Mario and I feel after having the trauma of the wreck, immediately going into surgery, then going into surgery for about 8 hours yesterday he is probably just so tired and his body needs rest. They did say they may ultrasound the artery pressing on his spinal cord but other than that this will be a resting day for him.
