Support Kory Stanley

Hello everyone,

First I would like to introduce myself I am Kory’s mom, Loucinda.

Kory’s dad, Kelly and I, along with our family and of course Daniel want to Thank All of You for Generosity and support you have shown for our son Kory and his family. For those of you who know Kory personally you know he is not a quitter by any means and this Cancer will be fought with all he has and more in him to be cured.

Kory and Robyn have two children Kobyn (11) and Kabrie (9). We started the GoFundMe because we knew Kory will be in this for the long term and will have little to no income. We want them focused on Kory’s healing and being with his family during his Chemo treatments for the next while. (we don’t really know how long) and not have to worry about the financial stress of this whole situation.

I am hoping Kory’s story will help those out there who may be in a similar situation and if after reading my words you take away nothing but, to be determined - to fight for your appointments - push the system - push the doctors to hear you - you are your best advocate….

Kory knew something wasn’t right back in December 2023 – at his appointment with his physician was convinced Kory’s problem was only internal hemorrhoids. (You’re too young for Colon cancer Kory) Kory, trusting his doctor believed it was just that. Kory would still be waiting for his Colonoscopy if wasn’t for his family members pressuring him and finally he received an appointment on October 27 (10 months later). So Kory has already been fighting this cancer for almost a year. It was at this appointment where Kory learned it wasn’t just internal hemorrhoids but Colorectal Cancer which has now metastasized to Stage 4 – which means it is no longer just in the colon but has spread to his liver, lungs and lymph nodes.

As a family we wanted Kory to have his first MRI completed as soon as possible and with our medical system the earliest appointment we could find was a private clinic in Dawson Creek BC – so on Monday, November 18th Kory and his dad travelled the day (20hours) there and back from Dawson Creek so Kory’s doctor would have the results to go over for his appointment the next day..

Our medical system moves slow and Kory again is waiting for a second MRI (a more in depth one of his liver) which will give the doctors a clearer understanding of the cancer there. So again we are waiting for the next MRI and from those discoveries the doctors will come up with the treatment plan.

Kory has been home with the stress of this since for a month now.

Words cannot express our gratitude you have shown Kory and Robyn so far.
