Support Krissy's Recovery from Dog Attack

Imagine coming home and getting out of your car, only to be attacked by a pit bull. This was what happened to my dear friend, Krissy. The dog managed to rip off a 3.5 inch by 2.75 inch (9cm x 5.5cm) section of her face. She has undergone her first initial surgery where they had to repair the nerve that controls her smile and the muscles in her face. They were also able to re-attach the piece of her face that was missing. Thankfully, her boyfriend acted with fast thinking and took the part of her cheek off the ground and put it on ice while heading to the hospital.

They won’t know how it will take until they remove the bandage to check the healing. She will be undergoing at minimum 2 more surgeries to include skin grafts and a reverse face lift to fill the area where skin and tissue are missing. No one thinks something like this is going to happen to them. Krissy is recently new to the area she moved to within the past month and does not currently have medical insurance. With this first surgery and hospital stay, I can’t imagine the bills she’ll have coming from a level 2 trauma center! And yet the future surgeries cost, and all the therapy and medications she’ll need. Krissy is one who would and has given the people in her life the shirt off her back, a roof over many heads, and is known to cook a meal for anyone that walked in the door! Please, if able, help her back! Thank you all!

And the owner or whereabouts of the dog is unknown. It was alone with no handler and ran off after the attack. So no one to even hold liable! Be a good pet owner, raise them with love, not aggression! And like Bob Barker said best, always get your pet spayed or neutered!
