Support Kyle's Fight Against Rare Disorder

This is my baby brother, Kyle Reniche (yes, he's 57, but he'll always be my baby brother). Kyle is what in medical slang is known as a zebra. He has a very rare genetic disorder that was overlooked for years because the symptoms mimicked other conditions ("When you hear hooves, its more likely to be a horse than it is to be a zebra."). Anyhoo, Kyle is now facing major surgery to remove insulinomas that have developed in his pancreas. These are tumors that cause the pancreas to pump out so much insulin that Kyle's blood sugar crashes constantly, putting him at risk of coma or death. The surgery will involve taking out all or parts of several internal organs and he will be in recovery for months. He recently lost his job and is relying on COBRA for insurance. Those premiums are quite large, and his medical and travel expenses are adding up (he lives in Maine and has to go to Boston for treatment).

Times are tough for everyone these days, but I am hoping that if you have any amount to spare, you might consider helping Kyle out.
