Afghan Women's Soccer Player Laily Armaghan
Donation protected
I want to tell you about a young woman I recently met named Laily Armaghan. Laily was a member of the Afghanistan Women's National Soccer Team before the Taliban seized the country and restricted females from many things, including playing sports and even going to school. Members of the soccer team fled the country as refugees, fearing that their status as popular and successful women would make them targets for oppression and even violence. After spending time in different countries, on military bases, and in refugee camps, Laily has found a home in my hometown, St. Louis, MO. My family has been connected with her and has been trying to help her, but she needs so much more. Donations from this campaign will go directly to supporting Laily and her need to pay for housing, education, transportation and other vital living expenses as she continues her transition to a new life in the United States. Thank you for your interest and support for Laily!
