Support LaNai Bowens' Memorial Expenses

We are deeply saddened to inform you of the passing of our beloved LaNai Sherrie Bowens. LaNai was a treasured member of both the Bowens family and the Avalon Park and Bullock County communities.
We recognize that the abrupt nature of her departure leaves many of her dear friends, loved ones, and extended relatives with questions. While it is challenging to express individually, we share the details of her final moments, hoping it provides solace.
On the evening of September 2, 2024, LaNai experienced a massive pulmonary embolism (blood clot) that traveled to her lungs which led to cardiac arrest. Despite the medical team’s efforts at UNM Hospital, Albuquerque, LaNai did not regain consciousness. The medical team determined LaNai had sustained a catastrophic brain injury and a massive stroke as a result of oxygen deprivation.
LaNai passed on Monday, September 9, 2024, with her family at her bedside. In her final act of love, LaNai was an organ donor.
While we may not know why, we are blessed for having experienced LaNai for the short while she was here. She had a smile bright as the stars and a deep and profound love of family, friendship and loyalty. LaNai would help a soul in need. She would lend an ear and offer advice. She would go to war for those she cared about and defend those who couldn’t fend for themselves. She was passionate, a true lover of music, namely 112, but listened to all genres - a true eclectic spirit. LaNai was charismatic, intelligent, and full of life with a distinctive giggle that could brighten the darkest days. She was funny, a great cook, and an avid gamer. LaNai believed in hard work and being the very best in any role she was asked to take on.
LaNai’s memory will forever live on in our hearts and she will always be the irreplaceable LaNai Sherrie.
Due to the unexpected passing of LaNai, and as we work to identify her resources, our family faces numerous challenges and is reaching out to those who knew and cherished LaNai for support. We are seeking contributions to help with the cremation process, relocating LaNai's possessions from her residence, and outstanding medical expenses.
We thank you all for your love, support, and prayers.
