May 20, 2024, the day Everything changed. He is now diagnosed with Stage 2 Brain Cancer. He will be starting radiation and chemotherapy on June 27th. This is a Huge surprise to all of us. Here is the answer to some of your questions.
Lance worked in Dumas, Texas for 2 months. He came home on May 3rd. He starting not feeling well. We thought it was from the weather change, going from a dry dusty area back home to the humidity. It happens. He got a headache and took Tylenol, all good. We went to Biloxi on May 8th. He was fine for 3 days, but the last 2 days he stayed in bed at the hotel, running fever and had a headache. We got home May 13th, he was alright, but still not fully feeling well. He didn't want to go to the Dr. I thought he might have a sinus infection and needed antibiotics. He thought he might have covid. He ran fever a couple of times and we broke it. He stayed hydrated, took magnesium and vitamin c, thinking covid or the flu. On May 20th, his headache was so bad that he agreed to go to the ER. Thankfully they ordered a CT scan. As soon as the results came back, they had an ambulance waiting to take us to Ochsner Main Campus. They said he had bleeding and swelling on the brain. He stayed in ICU and had brain surgery May 24th. They took 4cm of his brain out on the left side. The tumors are not solid. They are intertwined into his brain. They cannot safely take it all out. It is in the part of the brain that controls memory, speech and vision. He is back home and we are about to start the journey of radiation and chemo. He is already having problems with his memory and speech from the surgery. We would like everyone to pray that this treatment doesn't take more of his memory and speech. We spent 6 hours at the hospital today. Thank you for y'all Love, Prayers and Support.
