My name is Lance Wagner,

My journey started after a visit to Poland where my girlfriend and I decided we would go assist with the refugee influx from Ukraine into Poland at the start of the war. We were purchasing and handing out life necessity items in refugee tents from morning to night. We spent two weeks doing this and working with one of the local churches in Krakow, Poland. Upon returning home I personally felt the need to return, but this time to enter Ukrainian territory to further assist those people who were being held under siege. I decided to book an airline ticket, once again entering Poland, then taking the 30 hour train ride from Poland to Kyiv, Ukraine. Initially I had zero contacts or any plans of how this mission was going to continue out. I thought that the best possible way to get an introduction of Ukraine and its people and also to be able to fully grasp the impact and sorrow of their situation. I now decided to enlist the help of a local tour guide/translator named Helena Ragzova. We initially visited several major cities that the Russians first invaded, nearly two years ago. From this point on it pulled my heart and soul into the plight of the Ukrainian people. I knew that from now on I was going to obligate my time into helping them in any way with their day to day struggles. Through my journey and time spent in Ukraine I met some truly beautiful and amazing people who have fought every single day to stay alive which truly inspired me to continue this work. After getting a sight of these children’s lives I couldn’t help but to imagine how I would feel if these were my kids and this was my everyday life. I wanted to help as best as I could and make these kids feel back in a safe and loving environment.
