We are working to open a midwifery owned and operated hospital-based practice delivering at Adventist White Oak Medical Center in Silver Spring, MD. We will bring in the philosophy of homebirth/center birth to the hospital setting. We will also be offering a full range of office services as well (see below). Through this model of care we hope to improve birth statistics and decrease health care disparities. In order to see this large project to fruition we need help with the start up costs. Our second mission is to create a practice that is sustainable and helps the providers and staff not only work, but thrive. Any help or support is appreciated and we look forward to seeing you at our office when we open mid-summer 2022.

Mission: To provide high-quality, evidenced-based, full scope midwifery care that empowers our clients. To create a sustainable midwifery group practicing to the highest extent of our education.
Vision: To incorporate home and birth center philosophy, outcomes, and patient centered care in the hospital setting. Build high quality gynecology and postpartum healthcare services while connecting our practice to other community healthcare providers. Provide inclusive care that helps to decrease healthcare disparities, maternal morbidity and mortality. Become leaders in obstetric and gynecologic services offered in the MD/DC metro area.
The midwife owners of Envision Midwifery & Healthcare have a combined 28 years of experience in hospital and birth center deliveries. Our midwives have experience supporting physiologic birth, working independently and in collaborative care models. Our highly knowledgeable and experienced team has special interests including: inclusive-care for nonbinary identifying clients, sexual health and education. We will provide 24/7 coverage for our patients with a beginning staff of 3 full time midwives. We plan on growing to 7 full time midwives by year 5. The co-owners are Jenna Benyounes DNP, CNM and Shaina French CNM. Shaina will be leading the clinical team by working full time in the beginning. Jenna will be leading our administrative team and eventually be working part time clinically as well.
Why Envision Midwifery & Healthcare is Different: We will be the only midwife owned and operated hospital-based practice in the Maryland/DC metro area. This will allow us to deliver patient centered care which will provide the ability to be innovative in care processes, and still be financially viable while doing so. Being well respected in practice, we have strong connections with fellow healthcare providers, as well as the birth worker community: doulas, chiropractors, physical therapists, and mental health providers. Through our strong relationship with Adventist White Oak Medical Center we will become leaders in the provision of diverse maternity care services in the MD/DC metro area.
