Support Laura and Rosie's Family

Donation protected
We are fundraising on behalf of two of our beloved teachers (and sisters) Miss Laura and Miss Rosie who have been a part of our DDP team for a while now. Laura was a toddler teacher at Bellevue for 1 year and then moved to the Sunflowers class. Rosie was an infant teacher in our Cherry Blossoms class. Our hearts are with them as they grieve the loss of their mother who recently passed away after fighting for her life with COVID . We are hoping to support them in any way possible, and helping to ease the financial burden of medical bills, funeral expenses and general living expenses while they take time away from work to grieve and to care for their family as they work through this terrible time. Below is Laura and Rosie's story and a beautiful homage to their cherished and missed mother.

"Our mother María Guadalupe was a hard working, loving and caring  mother, grandmother, and wife. She was very charismatic and religious and  had strong faith and trust in God even till the last day she was conscious.  She believed that God was always looking out for people who were doing good deeds and she was one of them. Our mother was diagnosed with COVID on January 20,2021. When she was diagnosed she went into self isolation in her room along with my father who was also infected a couple of days after. Not only did COVID infect both of our parents but our older sister as well. When our parents got COVID, we took a leave from work to care for them. We cared for the three of them as much as we could. Unfortunately our mother had underlying health issues that escalated her COVID symptoms. Her fevers were a lot higher, cough was stronger, and she  started to have difficulty breathing. My mother was very strong when we asked how she was doing she always responded with an “I am okay don’t worry”, we knew she was trying her best to overcome this situation and we continued to monitor her. She seemed to be getting worse and not better and that is when we really started to get worried.  We purchased an Oximeter to help us keep track of her oxygen since that was her main struggle. Then on January 23, 2021 we realized her oxygen dropped to a worrisome level and my siblings and I realized that we could no longer help her at home and that the hospital was the best decision for her well being. Paramedics came to our house and took our mother to the hospital where we thought she would be recovering for a few days, get better and come back home. Unfortunately for us, God had a different future prepared for her. While in the hospital we continued to stay informed on her health as much as possible by making calls throughout the day. My mother rapidly continued to get ill due to COVID and on March 4th at 2:09 am my mother became one of Gods Angels. We were told all along by doctors “Prepare for the worst and hope for the best”. But for us it was a difficult process to follow and every day it was heartbreaking to have to make decisions regarding my mother’s health hoping till the end she would come back home. What made my mother special was her strength and faith and how she always fought her way through life. We share this with our loved DDP community to express awareness to be safe and enjoy family while we can. We never expected to lose our mother so soon and neither were we prepared to confront this hard situation. We also appreciate any help from DDP family in this tough moment that our family is going through. Thank you all for your support and prayers."

We hope your family will consider helping Laura and Rosie during their awful experience with this pandemic. Our hearts and prayers are with them.
