Support Lauren After a Devastating Car Crash

Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Hearts,

As some of you may know, I was recently involved in a devastating car accident. A driver under the influence, sped through a standing red light at over 60+ mph, and smashed directly into my driver’s door as I was passing through the intersection on a green light. My car was crushed, but saved my life.

I was rushed to the Emergency Room with a very badly broken collarbone that snapped in half on impact, with multiple other contusions, lacerations, and open wounds. Surgery was needed to set the bone with metal plates.

The pain was unimaginable, just doing basic movements was excruciating, but with the help of friends and family, I was able to make it through the worst of the initial trauma and dark time.

As I navigate the long road to recovery, I find myself facing not only physical pain, but also mounting medical bills that continue to grow. The cost of the surgery alone was $113,000, in addition to the ER visit, the ambulance, surgical follow ups, and physical therapy, are all adding upwards of $125,000.

Additionally, it has been discovered that the at-fault driver has absolutely no insurance, of any kind, and is walking away without having to take any responsibility for wielding this much damage.

I am responsible for the aftermath.

This leads me to humbly ask for your support. Whatever you can give, your generosity will help go toward these massive hospital bills, essential needs as I regain health and independence, as well as the future surgery I’ll need this year to remove the metal hardware. I urge you to check your auto insurance to make sure you have NonInsured/UnderInsured Motorists coverage on your policy, and as much as you can afford, to protect yourself.
