Support Lauren’s Battle Against Cancer

UPDATE:
Praise the Lord! Hope comes in the morning.
I have an appointment with MD Anderson in Houston, TX! They are highly recommended as the place to go for rare cancers. I’ll go in December to discuss our options for clinical trials (and, hopefully, begin treatment). I’ll be there for a week.
This is an answered prayer, as we weren’t sure if my case would be prioritized. I’m so grateful!
Please continue to pray for miraculous healing, safe travels, and good health as my body prepares to fight.
Thank you all for your generosity and support for our GoFundMe. Dax and I cannot express the depth of our gratitude; it means everything to our family. We love you all.
For the first time in a while, I feel true joy.
Thank you, Jesus.
Lauren Serio has always been a dedicated wife, mother, and teacher. She has always put others before herself. Lauren has impacted many lives during her time teaching, and even in simple, everyday passings. Her generosity is unmatched.
The beginning of the school year was a challenge for Lauren, as she was experiencing some health issues. After many visits to primary care doctors, ENTs, and eye doctors, her condition was still unknown. On the evening of Thursday, October 24th, Lauren experienced an unexpected and terrifying fall at school. Her husband, Dax, took her to the hospital where they advocated for further testing. This is when the doctors discovered a 3cm mass on her brain. The very next day, the doctors located more lesions on her brain, and masses in her left lung and spine. Lauren endured many tests and a biopsy that gave her condition the name of Stage 4 Adenocarcinoma.
The following Tuesday, Lauren underwent surgery where they preformed a craniotomy.
She has been home since October 31st with her husband and son, Dax and Sebastian. She has since been undergoing infusions and radiation.
Lauren and her family are moving forward with efforts to participate in clinical trials at Vanderbilt, in hopes for a treatment that gives her the most longevity and time with her family.
During this time, Lauren and Dax will spend time away from their home and their jobs, causing a disruption in finances.
We hope to rally around Lauren and show her the support and generosity she has always shown others.
