Support Laurie and Kids After Herb's Passing
Donation protected
Herb "Mr. Beef" Barcomb was one of the kindest souls on this earth. He is leaving behind his beautiful wife Laurie, and his children ages 8, 15, 22, and 24, a daughter-in-law and son-in-law. This family would give the shirt off their backs for anyone that needed it. He is going to leave a lasting impact on this community. He was a part of the fire department, EMS, and an NCCS school bus driver for some time. All of the children at Laurie's daycare just loved their "Mr. Beef". Unfortunately, during Herb's time waiting for a kidney transplant, his life consisted of dialysis, appointments/procedures, and being admitted to the hospital off and on. Then, after a heart catherization it was found that he actually needed open-heart surgery. After waiting at CVPH for quite some time, he was then transferred to UVM Medical Center to finally have the surgery. Laurie and the children would have to drive back and forth, even staying at hotels, all while still trying to continue running their home daycare. The surgery went well, but then there were complications afterwards. Suddenly he went into cardiac arrest and was subsequently placed on life support. Laurie and the family received the news that there were no options left for treatment, and that they should make their way out to VT to say their goodbyes. Ultimately, they had to make the worse decision imaginable. Laurie is now left to pick up the pieces and try to still run her daycare as their only income, all while having to grieve, support the children through this, and plan his memorial. I hope we can alleviate some of the financial burden for them, whether it be help with funeral costs, food, present and past medical bills, money for the care of the children, or other unforeseen costs. Any donations are directly transferred to Laurie.
