Support Laurie Blakeney's Recovery!

Dear AASY Community,

This is Becca (student/teacher at the Ann Arbor School of Yoga). I'm fundraising for our wonderful teacher and mentor, Laurie Blakeney, who was in a terrible accident while visiting Pune, India for the month of December 2023 to attend classes at RIMYI. Laurie was hit by a scooter while crossing the street. This resulted in a fractures in both her clavicle and pelvis. Laurie has been in the hospital for several days trying to regain some mobility, but she is unable to sit and walk by herself. She is making progress little by little each day. It will take her some time to recover enough from her injuries to travel back home to Ann Arbor, and she will continue to need some assistance when she's home. Funds raised will help pay medical and living expenses while Laurie is in India, including possibly an aid to help her when she leaves the hospital. Funds will also support Laurie when she's home, especially if she is unable to return to teaching right away.

This is a terrible situation, and we are so glad that there are people with Laurie in India who care deeply about her and are helping however they can. We are also so grateful that Laurie is receiving the medical care she needs and that her injuries were not worse than they currently are.
