Hello, I am here to start a Go fund me for My uncle. Here is his journey below.
My Journey with Colon Cancer
My name is Lawrence V McNeil Jr. I am 59 years old.
I am happily married to my beautiful wife for 26 years, raising 5 beautiful grandchildren ages 12, 11, 8, 7, and 1.
And also have 2 grown children Roman 35, Aneya 32. Trying to maintain a living, I was
diagnosed in 2010 with stage 3b Colon Cancer to which I’m currently in hospice. I was being treated at UC Health
Anschutz Cancer Center in Aurora, Colorado. After this news my life was totally changed in an instant! I
had no idea that what I was going to experience and try and live through would become the most
difficult experience that I could ever imagine.
When this started, I had had my colon resected in 2011. A serious surgery procedure performed on
colon cancer patients along with chemo and radiation. Surgery was performed the day after I was
diagnosed, a chemo port was the first procedure, I then was offered an opportunity to go to the Cancer
Centers of America to which we left for Philadelphia to start their treatment program after I started at
Anschutz. I then adopted shared Oncology treatments and care between the two hospitals. Shortly after
my resection and recovery, I went into remission in 2013 for a short period of time. Since 2013 to
current, I have periodic colon balloon dilations due to side effects from former radiation treatments.
This is a procedure performed to help with intestinal shrinking. So, after a short remission break in 2014
the cancer was back, but now had started metastasizing to my liver. I then experienced a blood clot due
to my chemo port which meant I had to go back into surgery to remove and replace the port. After this, I
had a liver resection surgery to have 60% of my liver removed.
I went to Cancer Treatment Center of America in Philadelphia for 1 year back and forth still having to go
back to Anschutz Center intermittently. After treatment there I went into another short remission in
2016.
Now in 2017 cancer was back again.
Currently received news from my oncologist that 20% of my liver is functioning. He gave me 2 to 7 weeks of survival. The fund would help with funeral costs and help my wife and grandkids with monthly bills. I used all my savings for treatments. God Bless you all. And thank you in advance! If you would like to send a check mail to pob 164 Deer Trail Co 80105 also have a Venmo account as well!
