It is with heavy and hurting hearts that we prepare to lay our beloved Viviana (Viv, Vivis) to rest. Viv passed away on September 27, 2019 after a year long battle with cancer. This fundraiser is meant to offset the high memorial costs and to provide our sister with the most beautiful and honorable farewell services. The funds raised will be used for memorial services, burial, and related costs.
Viviana Portillo was always the brightest soul in every room. A mother, daughter, aunt, sister, friend, mentor... Viv brought everything she had into relationships and never failed to let others know how much she cared and loved this world, her Lord, and those around her. She was a woman of faith, laughs and adventure.
Over a year ago, Viv was diagnosed with Leukemia and underwent treatment at the City of Hope hospital. Being the resilient fighter she has always been, she was declared cancer-free months later. This was also in part from her younger sister's platelet donation. In spring of this year, however, our Viv relapsed and was hospitalized when her Leukemia returned at 85% and underwent a second round of treatment.
After months of fighting cancer, Viv returned home to our Lord and her father on September 27, 2019. We are devastated to say goodbye to our Viv, but are deep in our belief that she was called home and now is at rest.
Viviana is survived by her children Tessa and David, her mother Teresa, her siblings Fernando, Elizabeth, Vanessa and Danny, as well as her nieces and nephews.
Services for Viviana's farewell will be announced when planned. Thank you for supporting our family in this time.
