Support Le Etta and family after Father's Tragic Loss

My name is Le Etta. My story starts on December 1, 2023. My father, a highly decorated Vietnam Veteran Gary Nunn and best friend in the entire world was in a car accident. A car was parked in the street, illegally, and the car was all black, with dark window tint and there are no street lights on this road; anyone could have hit this car. The airbag hitting my father in the head caused a brain bleed, which was drained without incident. Then my father went to a rehab facility to get stronger. During his stay at this rehab facility, the doctors wanted my father to have an angiogram. I took my father in for this procedure, but instead of an angiogram, they put a stent in his carotid artery and in doing so, my dad ended up blind in his right eye. My dad came home from rehab and my husband and I quit our jobs to become his caregivers. The VA certified me as his caregiver and my husband helped with the heavy lifting. My dad was doing okay, but he lost his license and the ability to see out of his right eye, so he was devastated. On 8/13, my father got up to go to the bathroom, misstepped, and hit his head hard. For 2 days, I asked the concussion questions, took his blood pressure, listened to his heart, and he was fine. He woke up on that 3rd day and had no idea who I was, so I got him to the hospital and it all went haywire, and my dad passed on 8/29. He raised me as a single parent and my dad and I shared the most amazing bond, and this hurts more than I can put into words.

From the car accident and rehab place, I have several bills to pay for him. The hospital and rehab after my dad's car accident would not accept his VA insurance because they dont accept 3. My dad had a private insurance from GM as well as Medicare so they wouldn't use the VA even in place of one of those 2. I lost my world the day my father passed. I'm not sure how I'm gonna get through this, but I can't give up because my dad taught me better. Anything helps! Thank you!
