Support Leah’s Recovery After Devastating Car Crash
Donation protected
On the night of Saturday, November 16th, I was in a head-on collision caused by a vehicle driving the wrong way on US-94 eastbound as I was exiting onto exit 236 onto Highway 280. The accident left me with several injuries, none of which are life-threatening, but the recovery will be physically, emotionally, and mentally extensive. As many doctors and nurses at Regions said, I’m incredibly lucky to be alive, and are amazed that I made it out as well as I did, despite the long road ahead.
The crash destroyed my car, my body, my mind, my spirit, and my personal belongings (including many of my burlesque costumes that took years to make) has impacted both my personal life and my ability to work. As someone who works full-time in publishing and as an artist, my body is at the center of everything I do. I rely on it for both creative expression and my professional responsibilities, and losing wages and opportunities right now is incredibly difficult. (As I’ve already had to turn down several bookings in the New Year due to the accident.)
This year has already been one of the toughest of my life, and this accident adds yet another challenge. I’m asking for your support to help cover medical expenses, meet essential needs, and give me the chance to heal and rebuild my life. No contribution is too small, and every bit of help will make a difference.
If you're able, please consider donating and sharing this message. Your support means the world to me as I navigate this tough time. Thank you for being a part of my journey.
As I receive updates on the crash and on my own healing process, I’ll be posting updates to here, so contributors will be updated first.
Thank you for your consideration and your willingness to read my story.
