Donation protected
Most of you in the reptile community especially the corn snake community know of our situation with the confiscation of our scaleless corn snakes last year, and the legal ramifications that came from that in the state of Illinois. The state declared them a native and endangered species of the State because of their connection to the great plains rat snake( emoryi ) in 2021. Nineteen years after the first one was produced in France, 11 years after the first ones reached the United States, and five years after I started the collection within the state. "TINLEY PARK SHOW
DNA testing as of right now says can't find emoryi in the nuclear or mitochondria dna. The states tests are currently inconclusive as well.
I was charged with 8 misdemeanors and 2 felonies with 24k in fine, and 8 years in prison. We have entered a plea bargain at 5k. Our lawyer fees currently are an additional 7k. If we decide to take this to court it will cost at least 20k. If it goes to court and we lose we're talking in upwards of 40k total. There's a lot more but that's pretty much it. You can read more on my Facebook pages. The amount generated by this will determine our next move. If more than is given than needed the remainder will be donated back into the reptile community and or reptile conservation.
Thank you so very much in advance. ❤️
