UPDATE:

The Final Countdown: just Days to Go!

In 4 just days, I will begin a journey unlike any other—walking from Los Angeles to New York City, a 130-day trek across the United States. This is not just a physical challenge; it’s a mission to raise awareness for suicide prevention and promote mental fitness. With each step, I aim to shine a light on the importance of mental health, break the stigma surrounding it, and inspire others to take charge of their own well-being.

As the days draw closer, my excitement grows, but so does the realization of the enormity of this journey. There’s still so much to do! I’m fine-tuning my route, finalizing my packing, and preparing mentally for the challenges I’ll face. The support from everyone, especially from my incredible, friends, family and community, has been nothing short of amazing. We’re finalizing everything from merchandise to the social media activations that will keep you connected to this journey every step of the way. Stay tuned!

Here’s what’s been on my radar in these past 30 days:
• Route Planning: Ensuring I have a clear path and know where I’ll be staying along the way.
• Packing: Finalizing my gear, including everything I’ll need to stay safe, healthy, and mentally sharp.
• Physical & Mental Prep: Pushing through final training, making sure I’m ready for the physical toll and mental fortitude needed.
• Fundraising & Campaigns: Launching the “Keep Me Posted” and “Stamp at the Stigma” campaigns, which will help spread the message far and wide.
• Collaborations: Working with amazing partners to bring everything together for a successful journey. Keep an eye out for the #MentalFitness

With only 4 days left, the excitement, nerves, and sense of purpose are building. I can’t wait to embark on this monumental trek and share every moment of it with you.

Stay tuned, because this journey is just getting started!

ORIGINAL POST:

Well…. I’m embarking on a 3,000-mile journey across America—walking from Los Angeles to New York City—to spark conversations, break the stigma around mental health, and raise awareness for suicide prevention.

This initiative, Keep Me Posted, is more than a walk. It’s a movement for connection, hope, and resilience. Every step I take symbolizes the fight to end isolation, encourage open dialogue, and remind people that they are never alone in their struggles.

Why This Matters:

Mental health challenges impact millions of people every day, yet stigma often prevents them from seeking help. Suicide remains one of the leading causes of death globally, and the conversation around mental fitness is more urgent than ever.

Through this campaign, I’m committed to:
* Sharing personal stories of resilience to inspire hope.
* Hosting community events along my route to bring people together.
* Raising funds to support mental health resources and suicide prevention programs.

How You Can Help:

This walk is a massive undertaking, and I need your support to make it happen. Your generous donations will help cover essential costs, including:

* Travel Expenses: Food, lodging, and supplies for the journey.

* Community Activations: Hosting mental health workshops and events along the way.

* Outreach & Awareness: Creating content and resources to share messages of hope and resilience.

Every contribution, big or small, brings us closer to a world where mental health is prioritized and stigma is a thing of the past.

Join the Movement:

If you’re unable to donate, you can still help by sharing this campaign and spreading the word about Keep Me Posted. Together, we can save lives and inspire a culture of compassion and connection.

Let’s walk together—step by step, conversation by conversation—toward a brighter future.

Thank you for your support,

Leisa Aras
