Help Leo Schofield and his Daughter, Ashley, Recover from a Devastating Motorcycle Accident

On Monday, January 20th, Leo Schofield and his daughter, Ashley, were involved in a serious motorcycle crash when an oncoming car pulled in front of them to make a turn. The collision left both with severe injuries, and together, they face a long and challenging road to recovery.

Their Injuries:

Both Leo and Ashley suffered fractured pelvises, broken wrists and hands, and broken feet. In addition, Ashley sustained a bruised lung, while Leo’s injuries are far more severe. He has an “open book” pelvic fracture—a life-threatening injury that caused significant internal bleeding—a lacerated bladder, and a fractured lumbar vertebra. Leo has already undergone three surgeries this week.

Thankfully, neither Leo nor Ashley sustained head or spinal cord injuries. However, their recoveries will require months of hospitalization, intensive rehabilitation, and ongoing physical and occupational therapy.

The Impact on Their Family:

Ashley is a devoted mother to three young boys, and Crissie, their rock, will now take on the role of caretaker for Leo, Ashley, and the children. With both Leo and Crissie unable to work at this time, the family faces significant financial challenges, including child care, home modifications to accommodate wheelchair access, medical and rehabilitation costs.
