Support Leo and His Family Through His Brave Fight

Hi, my name is Ashlee Hart, and I’ve created this fundraiser to support a wonderful family during an incredibly challenging time.

On the 9th of November, seven-year-old Leo experienced a terrifying medical episode at home, including a seizure that required his dad, Sam, to perform CPR while waiting for the ambulance. Leo was rushed to hospital, where his condition worsened, and since the 13th of November, he has been intubated in the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital. Doctors and specialists are working tirelessly to stabilise his condition.

Leo is receiving aggressive treatment for FIRES syndrome and autoimmune encephalitis. While investigations are ongoing, his medical team has outlined a long and complex road to recovery. For now, Leo remains ventilated in the PICU until they can be confident he’s stable for at least 48 hours—a critical goal we’re all praying for. Despite these challenges, Leo is a brave little fighter, and we’re staying hopeful for his recovery.

This situation has placed an enormous strain on his parents, Sam and Corinne, who are both self-employed. Corinne hasn’t left Leo’s side, while Sam is balancing his time between the hospital and caring for their two other children with the incredible support of family, especially Corinne’s sister Lauren.

At a time like this, no parent should have to worry about work or financial stress—they need to focus entirely on being there for Leo and their family.
