Support Les and Steph Booth.

READ UPDATE BELOW!
Hi my names Coral I’m making this on behalf of my beautiful Nan, Stephanie Booth to support her and my Pop Leslie Booth.

Less than a month ago Pop was taken to the hospital with what we thought was a flu.

He was instantly taken in and a whole heap of tests were done and we eventually found out that our wonderful, funny, caring and generous Leslie was nearing the end of his life with Stage 4 Cancer.

Originally we were given a timeframe of maximum 5 months left to cherish with him.

Today we found out we have less than weeks, if not days, left with his kind soul.

This has absolutely rocked our family, and our community.

Pop is known by hundreds of people as “Pop Les” “Uncle Les” and from his lifelong bestfriend “Big Ben”.

He has been a staple of our community and family since the dawn of time and has raised more children and even adults than I can name.

From Eden to Bega to Warilla, he’s always had a whole tribe right behind him, that he’s cared for, fed, housed and clothed - regardless of biology, money or how long he’s known them, if you ever needed somewhere to go or someone to talk to, Aunty Steph/Nan Steph and Uncle Les/Pop Les have always been the go to.

Even if there was already 24 people in a 4 bedroom housing commission, there was always space and a feed ready.

Over the years my family have refused to take even a cent off anyone they’ve ever helped, it takes a village and that village has always been with Nan Steph and Pop Les.

We are now calling on the community they’ve raised, held up, protected and cared for, to be our village.

Any donations whether it be $10 or $50 will go towards the needs of Nan and Pop while we prepare him for his journey back to the dreaming.

Nan is currently making multiple trips in and out of hospital everyday which is costing a big chunk in fuel, we’re limited on time so sourcing food is hard and we want to make Pop the most comfortable during time he has left.

If you know Pop, the only thing in this world he worries about is his ‘Snuff’ (Nan) and watching her struggle is only causing him distress.

Most importantly we want to give Pop the most beautiful and worthy send off when the time does come, he deserves the whole world after giving it to everyone else.

Anything helps, both sharing and donations. Thank you♥️

UPDATE:
Pop undertook a life saving surgery where they placed a shunt in his main artery to allow proper blood flow from his chest to his brain which has graciously given us more time.
We were advised the Doctor who made the comment regarding Pop only having days left should not have made a comment in that regard.

They were not aware of the surgery he was booked in for the next day and was basing it off his OBS at the time, which were crashing as he at the time wasn’t getting enough blood flow and oxygen to his brain, because there is cancer wrapped around the main artery and restricting the blood flow, which caused his whole head to swell and his oxygen levels to drop horrifically low.

Without the surgery we wouldn’t have him here. We still have a long, hard and scary road ahead of us, Pop has a lot more tests and treatments to be done but for now we are grateful for time.

Donations will be stored in the GoFundMe and only used to assist Nan and Pop with transport and food and to go towards a most deserving send off when the time does come.

Love Always
The Booth Family.

UPDATE #2 (14 February 2025)
We’ve been told so many things the past few weeks but we have gotten answers. Just not the ones we hoped for. Not only does Pop have cancer all throughout his body, he has two different types of cancer and there’s a huge mass of cancer in his heart. They were expecting to be able to give him some more time by trying radiation but they’ve let us know that there’s nothing they can do. Radiation won’t help, it will cause him more discomfort if anything. They originally weren’t going to give us a time frame, but they have now. They’ve said we have only a few months, give or take. They’re arranging palliative care for when it is time. Please share and donate as much as possible.

UPDATE #3 (19 February 2025)
They’ve decided and agreed it’s time to stop Pops medications which means our time is cut even shorter than expected.

Pops deteriorating very quickly and we’re worried that the time we are given is getting cut by weeks as the days go by. Pop is home now, being comfortable in the place he loves the most. He will stay there with the love of his life, Nan, until he can no longer be cared for at home.

Palliative care are ready for him as soon as this happens. Pop will then spend the rest of his time in palliative care at Bulli. Nan will be making multiple trips a day to and from there to see him and spend time with him whilst looking after household stuff.

Any donations to assist with Nan travelling to and from hospitals and to give Pop the send off he deserves when the time comes, will be extremely appreciated and held dearly within our hearts.

We understand that finances are rough so sharing the GoFundMe as much as possible will be appreciated just as much.

Our family are going through the worst experience we ever have and all the support we have been given we are so grateful for.
