Support Lesley and Seanna Dames after Dorian
Donation protected
Seanna Dames and her mother Lesley lost their home when Hurricane Dorian ripped through Green Turtle Cay on 1 September 2019.
Like many, they could have never expected the disastrous effects of such a monster storm. Having recently been told their house - which they have been working to complete for many years - will be torn down and is no longer structurally sound, they now have no choice but to start from the ground up. They've also lost the majority of their possessions, despite trying to salvage as much as possible after the storm.
Many of you will know the kindness that both women are so willing to share with others and how much love they have for their community and home of Green Turtle Cay. For starters, both are at the core of the Green Turtle Cay Island Roots Heritage Festival organizing committee and are always helping with other community events – from Junkanoo to the Golf Cart Parade.
Both women have worked consistently to help the relief teams post-Dorian, even though they did not have a home. They are also working (and have done so in the past) to try and initiate a recycling program on the Cay – which is particularly important right now. Lesley and Seanna (and her father 'Louie Louie') have been a part of the Green Turtle Community since the early days at the Bluff House and their heart and home is grounded on the tiny island we call Green Turtle Cay. Please help them rebuild so they have can once again have a real home.
Please show your support, in as little or as much as you can, to help them rebuild and have a home on GTC once again.
They are currently staying at Julie Farrington (my mother)'s home in town while they try to pick up the pieces after this horrendous experience.
