Support Letty's Fight Against Leukemia
Spende geschützt
Wednesday night, August 28th, Lindsey and James lived every parent's worst nightmare as they loaded their seven-month-old baby girl onto a life flight from Billings St. Vincent Hospital to Salt Lake City’s Primary Children’s Hospital.
On Monday, Letty was sent home from the doctor’s office with instructions to rest as they thought she was fighting a common cold or flu virus. By Wednesday, Lindsey followed her motherly intuition and took Letty back to the doctor because she knew something was wrong. A blood draw revealed Letty’s white blood cell count was high and her platelets were low, pointing her prognosis towards Leukemia.
The local medical team conferred with the children’s specialist in SLC where they said Letty needed to be ASAP. Within a couple of hours, mom and baby were in the air headed to the care Letty desperately needed.
After a full day of stabilizing and testing, Letty was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). She started chemotherapy, but still has a long road ahead of her, as do her mom and dad.
Please continue to keep Letty and her family in your prayers.
