Support Lexi's Brain Tumor Battle
Donation protected
On March 18th, my daughter, Lexi, 22, had what appeared to be stroke-like symptoms with slurred speech, a droopy face, vomiting, and memory issues. She arrived at Fairview Hospital’s emergency room, and after running tests, they discovered a tumor between the left and right hemispheres at the base of her brain near the cerebellum. Fairview’s neurologist feels pretty confident that this tumor is a Schwannoma, which is benign. This has to be confirmed by MRI, and they will be transporting her by ambulance to the main campus of Cleveland Clinic. The neurologist at Fairview feels this will require brain surgery, again to be confirmed by the neurology team at the main campus.
In the meantime, I have started this fundraiser to relieve the stress of finances for her family. She and her husband will be missing work, and I’m sure the hospital bills will be a strain. Lexi is a fairly new first-time mother and loves her baby girl, Gianna, dearly. She is doing well, considering all these things, but as you can imagine, the hardest part is being separated from her baby.
I know times are hard for everybody, but I’m hoping there are some who are in a position to help my baby. Thank you all for considering.
Update: I have been making updates public on my Facebook page. But I’m going to host one here quickly. Today one of the surgeons that are a part of Lexi‘s team will be meeting with her. Her brain surgery has not been scheduled yet, but it sounds as if it will happen by Wednesday at the latest of next week. My family and I would like to thank everyone for their generous donations. I know times are not easy right now for anybody so it’s even more touching to know that people are still rallying for our family. God bless every single one of you.
