Support Lexi's Heart Transplant Journey
Donation protected
In the fall of 2023, Lexi, age 11, started experiencing dizziness on the basketball court when she would play. In December 2023, she was diagnosed with restrictive cardiomyopathy. This form of heart failure is very rare (only 2-5% of all cardiomyopathy patients get this and most are adults), very aggressive and there is no cure.
After months of testing... EKG, MRI, echos, blood work, stress tests, heart cath procedures... doctors have come to the conclusion that a heart transplant is needed sooner than later. We have a routine appointment on June 19 to check progression (hopefully everything looks the same) and another stress cath on July 23 to measure the stress going from the heart to the lungs. The stress catheter appointment will determine her next steps.
Right now we are on the heart transplant list, but are able to be at home. If the stress going from her heart to her lungs worsens, they will reevaluate this.
