Support Liam's Brave Fight Against Cancer

Hello, everyone! My name is Alicia, Liam's Tia (Joey's sister). I have created this GoFundMe to help ease the financial burden that comes with caring for a child going through treatment for Cancer.

Liam went to the emergency room at the end of August with severe stomach pain. A CT scan showed that Liam had a ruptured cyst on his left Kidney that was bleeding. He was admitted to the hospital and later sent home with instructions to do a follow up MRI in a couple weeks, once he had healed a bit. He did his MRI two weeks later on September 11th. On September 12th, Yazmin received the call that Liam needed to go back to Phoenix Children's Hospital to be re-admitted for further testing. While admitted he had a PET scan that confirmed our worst fear. That the mass was suspected to be cancerous. It was decided that Liam would need to have his left kidney removed. Liam had his kidney, and the mass removed on September 20th. He recovered from having a major organ removed like a champ!

On September 30th, Yazmin received a call that no mother wants to ever receive. Pathology confirmed the mass to be a Stage 3 Wilms Tumor. Wilms is a type of childhood cancer that is typically found in kids younger than Liam. The news was devastating and everything happened so quickly. Later that week, Liam received his port,

the very next day started chemotherapy and two days later started radiation. His treatment is going to be a long, tough journey. He will do 3 types of chemo for 25 weeks (1 day per week). As well as daily radiation for 7 days. He is a strong little guy with an amazing sense of humor. He has had some side effects of the chemo and none so far with radiation. But again, handling it so well! Here is a picture of Liam right before one of his radiation treatments.
