Support Lilian's High School Journey

Donation protected

For those who don't know, my daughter Lilian got into her dream high school, a top of the line private all girls school. Due to some struggles we were granted limited financial aid resulting in my having to pay most of her tuition out of pocket. As a single mother with limited income, I have found myself needing help to make my daughter's dreams come true!

Some Background

In September of 2022, two days into her 7th grade school year Lilian got a severe concussion which lead to a year of struggles, trauma, setbacks, and fear that she would never get back to being the smart, talented, amazing girl she has always been.

The 7th grade school year is the most significant year in high school acceptance, it is the year that high schools look at to determine whether or not a student is accepted.

Due to Lily's concussion, we feared that she would not be able to maintain the grades necessary to get into her dream school. We also feared that she would be unable to get through the mental health struggles that were also triggered and made worse by her concussion. That year was probably the hardest in Lily's life. However, Lily maintained her As and Bs and remained strong through all the trauma.

At the end of March 2023, Lilian was finally cleared of her concussion and was given a clean bill of health as far as the concussion was concerned. She had not gotten back to 100% of herself but was at an acceptable 80% with hope that the rest would continue as she continued to grow and heal.

When Lilian applied to her dream school in September 2023, we were hopeful but also realistic. We knew that with her excessive absences the year before and her continued struggles in certain areas, it would be a long shot but we had to try.

On December 8, 2023 as we prepared to head home after work and school, our lives changed. We recieved an email confirming Lilian's acceptance to her dream school! In a matter of seconds our car was filled with the sounds of shrieks, screams, and sobs. The only words out of Lily's mouth, "We actually did it! We did it mom!". For at least two hours Lily cried and smiled. She couldn't believe that she had actually done it and her fears of being a failure and having the concussion take away everything she had dreamed of wiped away.

We did the steps we needed to but unfortunately due to some external factors we missed out on any real financial aid, but I refused to let money be the thing that stopped my daughter's dreams from becoming a reality.

So now I am humbling myself and asking for help. Due to some unforseen emergency situations and bills, I have fallen behind on the first three tuition payments and have been informed that if those payments are not paid in full by August 15th, Lilian will be unable to start and may lose her spot at the school.

Any help is greatly appreciated! Please share this and consider donating.

If you do not feel comfortable donating through this platform, I also have venmo and cashapp. I can also provide the information for payments to be made directly to the school on Lilian's behalf.
