Support Lilly's Battle Against Rare Cancer

Donation protected
Just days after walking across the graduation stage with her bachelor’s degree in hand, Lilly’s world was quickly turned upside down. A visit to the ER for minor symptoms led to the shocking discovery of a softball-sized tumor in her liver.

On July 12th, Lilly underwent major liver resection surgery to remove the mass and her gallbladder. During the procedure, doctors unexpectedly discovered three additional tumors in her abdomen, all of which were fully resected. While the surgery successfully removed the visible tumors, residual cancer cells remain and recent tests have revealed a malignant tumor in her pelvis. Her fight is far from over. Lilly has been diagnosed with a sarcoma called Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Tumor (DSRCT), one of the rarest and most aggressive forms of cancer— so rare that it only affects about one in a billion people worldwide and has less than 500 recorded cases.

Last week, Lilly had her chemotherapy port placed and will be starting intense treatment at Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake City, one of the few cancer institutes that is well-equipped to handle this rare disease. For her specific chemotherapy regimen, Lilly will need to be hospitalized for five days every three weeks, undergoing a total of 12 rounds of aggressive “red devil” chemotherapy. After 6 rounds, she will be having another surgery in hopes of removing the tumor in her pelvis.

The journey ahead will be challenging, involving not only grueling treatment but also frequent travel to Salt Lake City for Lilly and her family. As medical bills, travel expenses, and the costs of everyday life continue to mount, Lilly needs our help. The stress of battling cancer is overwhelming enough without the added financial burden that comes with it.

This GoFundMe is set up to help Lilly and her family cover the costs of ongoing treatment, travel to and from Salt Lake City, and any other expenses associated with fighting this rare and aggressive cancer. All help will allow Lilly to fully focus on her health and healing.

Lilly is one of the most resilient and determined young women you could ever meet. As a proud alumna of Loyola University New Orleans and Delta Gamma, Lilly has always been an active, passionate part of her community with plans to pursue her Master’s in Social Work. Throughout her life, she has consistently embodied kindness, strength, and an unwavering determination to lift up those around her.

Now, she faces the greatest challenge of her life. True to her nature, Lilly is determined to face this battle with the same strength and courage that has always defined her. Despite the weight of her diagnosis, she remains hopeful and ready to take on this fight.
