Marhaba, my name is Lina Malshy, and I am a 24 year-old Palestinian film and media scoring composer and Arabic violinist currently pursuing my education at Berklee College of Music in the United States. My journey has been one of dedication and resilience, moving from my home country to study at one of the world’s leading institutions for music, where I’ve had the incredible opportunity to work with acclaimed composers and artists.

I am in constant search of my own musical voice and "Sarab" was the first vision of what kind of music I want to write. I wrote it to express the unspeakable pain and sorrow my people have been suffering for over 70 years which I've been struggling, like many people, to express with words. Music couldn't have said it better.

My goal is to continue my education and take the next steps in my career as a film and media composer, but as many of you know, this path comes with significant financial challenges. The funds raised will be used to cover my last semester tuition, essential living expenses, and the costs associated with launching my career, including building a professional portfolio, purchasing necessary equipment, and moving to Los Angeles.

اسمي لينا ملشي، عمري 24 سنة. أنا ملحّنة موسيقى تصويريّة، عازفة كمان عربيّ وطالبة في جامعة بيركلي للموسيقى في الولايات المتّحدة. خضتُ رحلةً تطلّبت منّي الكثير من الأِصرار، الثبات والانتقال من بيتي ووطني لأندمج في دراسة الموسيقى في أحد الجامعات الموسيقية المرموقة في العالم، حيث أتيحت لي فرصة التعرّف على فنّانين ومؤلّفين موسيقيين ذوي باعٍ طويلٍ في مجالهم.

خلال بحثي المستمرّ عن هوّيتي الموسيقيّة الخاصّة بي، كانت "سراب" أوّل تجسيدٍ لِلَون الموسيقى الذي اريد تأليفه. لقد عبّرتُ في هذه المقطوعة عن ألم ومعاناة شعبي على مدار اكثر من 70 عامًا، هذه المعاناة التي يصعب التعبير عنها بالكلمات، فوجدت الموسيقى أفضل ما يمكنه تجسيدها.

أطمح باستكمال دراستي ومواصلة سيرتي المهنيّة كملحّنة موسيقى تصويريّة، وكما تعرفون فإنّ مواصلة هذا الطريق منوطةٌ بتحدّيات مادّية جمّة. تبرّعاتكم ستساعدني في تغطية نفقات الفصل الأخير من دراستي، مصاريف الحياة الأساسيّة والتكاليف المتعلّقة بانطلاقتي المهنيّة، مما يشمل تطوير بورتفوليو احترافيّ، شراء معدّات ضروريّة والانتقال للعيش في لوس أنجيلوس.

إنّ مساهمتكم في هذه الحملة لا تقتصر على مساعدتي فحسب، إنّما هي استثمار في شخصٍ وضع نصب عينيه رواية قصّة المهمّشين وإعلاء صوتهم عن طريق الموسيقى. سخاؤكم سيتيح لي إكمال دراستي، التفرّغ لمؤلّفاتي وانتاج موسيقى تسلّط الضّوء على مسيرة صمود ومقاومة.
