Help Us Give Lincoln the Life He Deserves ❤️

Hi everyone,

We’re Miguel and Austin, and our world revolves around our sweet, goofy, and incredibly loving Great Dane, Lincoln. For the past seven years, he has been our constant companion, our gentle giant, and the heart of our little family. His presence fills our home with warmth, laughter, and unconditional love.

A few days ago, everything changed. Lincoln’s heart began racing uncontrollably, and he suddenly stopped eating and drinking. As his condition worsened, we rushed him to the vet, where things took a terrifying turn—he collapsed. For a moment, we thought we were losing him.

The vet team worked quickly to stabilize him, and when we received the diagnosis, our hearts shattered. Lincoln has Dilated Cardiomyopathy (DCM), a severe congenital heart disease that has caused his heart to enlarge over time. Unfortunately, this condition is not reversible. However, with the right medication, we can help slow the progression, prevent his heart from growing further, and regulate his heartbeat so that it can effectively provide oxygen to the rest of his body.

In what we thought would be our final moments together, Lincoln showed us he wasn’t ready to go. He stood up, kissed us, and even let out a bark—his way of telling us he still wants to be here. That moment changed everything for us.

Right now, he’s taking things one step at a time. While he’s not back to his usual appetite, he’s eating treats, boiled chicken, and rice to get something in his stomach. He’s showing interest in food again, and in time, we hope to transition him back to his normal meals.

We are choosing to fight for him. As long as Lincoln has the will to keep going, we are going to do everything in our power to make sure he gets the best life possible, no matter how much time we have left with him. His medical bills have already exceeded $10,000, and the road ahead will be challenging.
