Support Linda Gambell Alzheimer's Care

Hello, my name is Kristin Gambell and this is a GoFundMe for my Mom, Linda Gambell. Linda means beautiful in Spanish. My Mom was a special needs school teacher for over 40 years in Scituate, MA, and raised two children as a single parent. Now the tables have turned and she is the one with a special need. Linda has Alzheimer’s in the form of Vascular Dementia which affects her Cognitive abilities.

Using a FB quote from her friend, Maureen Barry: “Your Mom’s only mission in life was to make it better for others”. My Mom believed in the power of healing and angels. Now she needs angels to help her - please be one of Linda’s Angels and help with this fundraiser.

My Mom dedicated her life to working with students who have special educational needs or disabilities. After she retired, she drove a van bringing special needs students to school. The students called her “Lovely Linda” and she played “classy” music in her van. My Mom loved to work in her yard, grow flowers, watch the bird and squirrel action in her yard, and volunteer at the North River Church. She also liked to watch (who I called her boyfriend) David Muir Nightly News.

The night before Christmas 2019, in the Marshfield North River Church parking lot, she had a stroke and it has been a rough road since. She was hospitalized 6 times in 2023, broke her hip in the hospital, consequently had 2 more fractures, used up all of her insurance days, and has increased needs for specialized care and services, particularly in her Memory Care living facility at The Cordwainer in Norwell.

I encourage everyone who reads this to contribute what they can to the fundraiser for Lovely Linda. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference in her life and bring comfort and support to her and her family during this challenging time. Together, as a community of caring individuals, we can help Lovely Linda continue to experience love, dignity, and joy in her journey ahead.

I hope that through the generosity of friends, family, and well-wishers, we'll be able to provide her with the best possible care and quality of life. Linda has dedicated her life to caring for others, and now she deserves the same care and support in return.
