Lindsey Voigtlander Donovan's Fight Against Cancer

Donation protected
On May 12, 2020 Lindsey went to the doctor for some stomach problems that hadn’t resolved with typical medication and diet changes. After initial lab work and an ultrasound, she was sent for an immediate CT scan. The results showed a large mass on her pancreas and multiple masses on her liver and surrounding lymph nodes. Due to the findings, they performed a biopsy within 24 hours. On May 18, the biopsy results and PET scan revealed Lindsey has Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer. At only 37 and otherwise healthy, this devastating diagnosis was a shock. Her doctor quickly referred her to the Oncology Clinic at UT Southwestern. Lindsey had her infusion port implanted on May 27 and her first of many chemotherapy treatments will begin on June 1. Since surgery is not an option for her, she must continue chemo for the foreseeable future.

If you ever spent even a little time with Lindsey, you know she personifies loving kindness. She is one of the sweetest persons in any room, always full of life, and full of joy to be a wife and stay-at-home mommy. Lindsey, her husband Sean, and their daughter Lilly just moved from California to Texas in January of this year. Thankfully they have close friends and family nearby and Lindsey’s sister and her parents will also be coming from Florida to help. Sweet little Lilly will turn 2 in July so a lot of energy and assistance will be needed there for sure.

We have set up this Go Fund Me account to help Lindsey and Sean with the huge financial burden that has been devastating for many families fighting cancer or other illnesses. There will be co-pays for doctor visits, chemotherapy, extensive lab work, scans, prescriptions, possible travel, and lost wages for her mom who is putting her job as an RN on hold to help care for her daughter and granddaughter. With all that is ahead on this battlefield against cancer, finances do not need to be at the top of the list of concerns.

Of course, we understand that not everyone is in a position to help financially. There is so much difficulty and uncertainty going on in all our lives right now. Even if you cannot donate, please share this Go Fund Me page with as many people possible through as many social media and personal outlets available to you. Additionally, prayers, prayers, prayers are the most welcome gift of all. Of course, we will keep you updated along the way. Thank you for loving Lindsey, Sean, and Lilly through this extreme trial!
