Support Lindsey's Fight Against Rare Cancer

Hi! This is Shea DeVille and Lindsay Thomas. We are sharing this story on behalf of our friend, Lindsey Piazza. We have known Lindsey for 6 years and have grown to be the closest of friends through teaching and mom life.

On June 19, 2024, Lindsey received a phone call that no one at the age of 34 should receive, the mass on her liver is malignant. This tumor is an extremely rare form of cancer called epithelioid hemangioendothelioma. Only one in one million people have been documented as having it so treatment is uncertain and a case by case basis. Unfortunately, this type of tumor does not respond to chemotherapy or radiation leaving a full liver transplant as the only option for a cure. She is currently in contact with MAYO clinic in Minnesota, MD Anderson in Houston, and Siteman in St. Louis to determine the best treatment plan moving forward. This is a very scary time for Lindsey and her 8 year old son, Jackson.

Lindsey is always the first to lend a helping hand and the last to ask for help herself. She is a 3rd grade teacher who is passionate about teaching and always being present for her students. We want to help alleviate the financial burden of all the upcoming medical expenses associated with treatment as well as lost income. We know Lindsey is loved by so many and are hoping to rally behind her to beat this awful disease.
