Support little Luna's SCID journey
Donation protected
Luna is a funny and energetic 4 month old, she is the child of Fiona and Chris here in Cobh.
"Sadly, Luna hasn't been well lately. What started out as a slightly concerning cold has turned out to be something much worse.
Luna has been diagnosed with Severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID)
"The treatment itself will initially involve chemotherapy, followed by a bone marrow transplant, and long periods of isolation.
"The Great North Children's Hospital is one of only two units in the entire UK (and Ireland) which perform bone marrow transplants for children who were born with severe immune deficiencies. So Luna and her mother will be traveling there while her dad stays here and takes care of her 2 siblings, but he may have to travel over to see if he is a bone marrow match if mom isn't. Any funds raised here will go to the cost of travel, along with the cost of accommodation, food, nappies etc for the 3 months Luna is expected to be in Newcastle as well as anything else that is needed by the family during this time.
It would be great to help and support this deserving family to support their baby while they are all going through this, so please donate if you can, and if you're not in a position to donate SHARE, SHARE, SHARE.
