LA Wildfires -- Help Liz Lee and Diesel Book Community

Diesel Bookstore is raising money to support our booksellers and others in our community who’ve lost everything in the devastating fire. If you can help, please donate to the Diesel GoFundMe. These funds will be used for two specific purposes:

1) Liz Lee, one of our booksellers lost her home. These funds will help her find a new home and replace her belongings.*

2) Acquire and donate books to individuals, schools and libraries (public and personal) that were lost in the fire. We are working with a local author who started the LA Wildfire Book Drive to buy, collect and distribute books to those affected by the fire. Please help in any way you can. And remember to support your local independent bookstores – especially those affected by the fires. These are important community touchstones and we need to ensure they are here to support the community as it rebuilds after this terrible disaster.

* There was an earlier GoFundMe for Liz, but the funds were returned because she thought her home was spared. Now she knows that the structure is standing, but it will likely be months before she’s even allowed to go back and retrieve her things -- if they are salvageable.
