Support Liz, Ray, and Saeyu recover after the Eaton fire
Donation protected
Hi everyone, it’s Liz, Ray, and Saeyu~
We just learned that our house burned down completely from the Eaton Fire. We lost everything. We evacuated Tuesday evening, 1.8.25, with the expectation that everything would be fine and that we would come back to our home, our valuables, and our car the next day—but instead we got confirmation that the very first home we bought and loved turned into ash and rubble. Even our car burned down to the bones. I don’t know what to do and I’m terrified~ for our little family, our extended family (our cousin also lost their home), and our sweet neighbors.

I am so grateful we are alive. Please hold your loved ones tighter.
Because we live in the foothills, our California Fair Plan insurance only covers a fraction of our home’s cost and value. And the bare minimum reimbursements for our everything we owned. There will be unexpected costs that we are not even thinking about right now that insurance and FEMA will not be able to help us with and we cannot foresee right now. If there is anything you can do to help~ we would be so grateful. If you know us, you know it's hard for us to ask for help.
Life has been tough for a lot of you, especially in the last few years. Monetary support is not the only way, please share this with others, and we look forward to hugs and tears when we see you again. We have a long road ahead but we will get through this because of our community. Please continue to keep us in your thoughts as we mourn the loss of our safe haven and try to have the strength to get through this devastation.
Thank you from the bottom of our broken hearts.
We love you.

1. Who you are: Liz Oh / legal name: Elizabeth Oh, family members include Ray Ahn and Saeyu Ahn
2. Where you're from: Altadena, CA
3. Your relationship to the parties you're raising funds for: this is for me and my family
4. How the funds will be spent (be specific as possible): any rebuilding expense beyond what insurance and FEMA will cover—including the rental that we moved into temporarily. Our insurance covers only 6 months of the rental and we have been denied FEMA support for now. I have appealed, but even if we get the maximum from FEMA it will not be enough to cover the rent for the next few years. This is all in addition to the fact that we will need to continue to pay for our mortgage on a non-existent house.
