AA flight 5432 -Support Elizabeth After Tragic Loss

We are deeply saddened by the tragic news of the crash of AA Flight 5342 and shocked to learn our dear friend Lizzy Medina lost her mother, Isabel. Her mother had come to visit Lizzy in Wichita for the holidays and was able to stay for a month. The two had been apart for many years, and there was so much joy! Isabel was on her way to visit her other children that she had not seen in many years as well. What was to be another joyous reunion ended in tragedy.

While I didn’t know her mother, I consider Lizzy my family. She has been a part of my life for almost 14 years. My family and my children love her. She is a hardworking woman of humble means. Her story of becoming an American citizen shows Lizzy's work ethic, honesty, and love for family. Every dollar she earns is needed to support her family. This awful loss will take her away from work for a good amount of time and also create major expenses for her. We as a collective family want to help Lizzy while she takes this time to grieve, care for her loved ones, her brothers and sisters, and for the burdens of funerals and other costs surrounding this awful tragedy.

Elizabeth Medina helps everyone she meets. She is unable to carry this burden alone and we are here to support her. She has given so much to so many and we want to give back to her in a way that is desperately needed at this time.
