Support LLEA Staff During Strike Hardship
Donation protected
Please consider a donation to keep LLEA strong and allow us to stand united in our belief that our students deserve the best!
We are LLEA, the Las Lomitas Education Association, and we are deeply saddened at the negotiations impasse with our district which is causing a pending strike to loom.
Please help those LLEA members who will be on the picket line instead of the classroom where they would rather be.
LLEA members will not receive any salary for the duration they are striking.
Some teachers are the sole financial providers for their families. Others are new and at the lowest end of the pay scale.
The LLEA Hardship Fund is designed to help those dedicated teachers stay afloat while striking for better pay and benefits that includes a fair COLA (cost of living adjustment).
We, the teachers and counselors of LLEA, work with students every school day.
We love our students and love teaching.
We want to be in the classroom, not on the picket line.
Our strike is a last resort option to insist that our students deserve the very best.
The LLEA bargaining team has worked tirelessly for close to a year to reach a retroactive contract agreement with the Las Lomitas Elementary School District for the previous 2023-24 school year. We have been working without a contract since 2022-23. We have yet to negotiate for the current 2024-25 school year.
Although we were hoping for a better outcome, we have not been able to reach an agreement.
Failing to invest in educators ultimately impacts the quality of education our students receive.
Please give whatever you can to the LLEA Hardship Fund.
All money collected will go to LLEA teachers and counselors who apply for assistance.
No money will be used for strike materials.
Should the strike be canceled due to a mutual resolution of the contract, all funds will be returned.
Otherwise, donations will help support staff who need assistance to make ends meet, allowing them the opportunity to stand united in our belief that our students deserve the best!
Our classified colleagues in our sister union, CSEA (the California School Employees Association) are going through the same pain right now. We are partners, working together closely and supporting each other to educate our students.
CSEA members drive the buses that take students to school ; clean the classrooms they spend their days in; provide individualized support for those most at risk; nurse their injuries and illnesses; foster their interest in technology and reading; maintain their safety at recess; coordinate their schedules; champion their social and emotional well-being; and so much more.
Should LLEA go on strike, classified members of CSEA have the legally protected right to perform a sympathy strike.
However, just like any striking LLEA member, CSEA members will not receive any salary for the duration they are striking.
If you can, please also consider supporting our coworkers in CSEA through the same struggle.

Thank you so much for your consideration and support for all of us.
UPDATE: We've heard from many who are eager to donate, and we appreciate your support. Your contributions are essential in helping us prepare for the strike and stand up for our educators. While some may prefer to wait until the strike is confirmed, please know that ALL donations will be refunded if it does not occur. If you're ready to contribute now, your support means the world to us. However, feel free to wait until after midnight on Tuesday if that's more comfortable. Thank you for standing with us during this critical time.
