Support Lo in Honoring Jamie's Loving Legacy

Jamie Freeman, a loving father, our very dear friend, and a blessing to all who knew him, passed away unexpectedly on September 23rd, 2024, at the young age of 47. As some of the people who cared about him most, we are hoping that together with the help of a generous community, we can raise enough money to lay him to rest with the burial service a person like him deserves.
Jamie moved to Houghton from the Milwaukee area in 2022, leaving behind the city life for the calmness and serenity of Michigan's Upper Peninsula. A DJ, a radio host, a poker whiz, an avid movie-goer—can only begin to describe him. He was loved deeply by those he surrounded himself with. Jamie always took the time with everyone he met to make sure they were welcomed, seen, heard, and felt appreciated. He was always there to support someone in a time of need. Since we’ve known him, he was always trying to do what he could to spread small acts of kindness. He would pass out flowers, leave riddles to be solved, sneak Dove chocolates to people, buy small gifts for his friends, or bring in a whole watermelon to cut up and share on hot summer days.
Prior to Jamie's untimely death, he worked as a valued team member at The Fire Station Cannabis Co. in Houghton, MI. He made it a point to treat every task and every customer interaction with his full attention and intention. He was grateful to come to work every day; truly glad to see us all and spend the day with us. He wanted to treat every customer like he was meeting a new friend. If you were lucky enough to have known Jamie, either personally, as a customer, or as an acquaintance, you would know that he was truly one of the most passionate and gracious people. Words cannot describe the impact Jamie will leave on us.
Now it's time to give all of this love and support back to Jamie. Jamie leaves behind his 25-year-old daughter, Lo Freeman, his pride and joy in life. Lo, like Jamie, is from the greater Milwaukee area and has been traveling back and forth to help lay her father to rest. These travel expenses, as well as the cost of a proper funeral, have fallen on Lo's shoulders. It is our hope as his friends that we can aid with the significant financial burden that comes with such a tremendous loss. Jamie struggled with severe Multiple Sclerosis, and as a result of the financial burden of these medical costs, Jamie did not have life insurance or any funds saved for a situation like this.
All contributions to this cause will go directly to Jamie's daughter, Lo. Every little bit helps!
Thank you for your consideration.
